Congratulations to our 3rd grade students who celebrated the Sacrament of Penance for the first time. I am very grateful to our teachers, Mrs. Razler and Mrs. Rozenello, who prepared them for this special moment.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We have many things to celebrate this week with our students. In our biweekly assemblies, we talk about our school mission statement, who we are as a school community, and what is expected of us - students and staff. We ask ourselves: “How can we do better as a school community?” Each time, we focus on issues that we can improve upon such as: lunch room, recess, bathrooms, uniforms, respect of others and love for God. We, as a school community, place high expectations on ourselves and our students. We strongly believe that when we work on little things, we are all going to be happier, both in and out of school.
Some issues of concern
Middle school parents, please have a conversation with your child regarding using inappropriate language. We hear a lot of it during recess, when switching classes, and in and around bathrooms. For some of our students, it seems like second nature. Almost daily we have to correct a student who uses inappropriate language. I know that this language is used everywhere…on tv, radio, in music, on the street, etc, but I also believe our students are better than that, and they know how inappropriate and offensive this language is and that it definitely does not have a place in a Catholic school. Thank you for your help in this matter.
We are also having some issues in our bathrooms. From stuffing paper towels in the toilets, urinals and sinks, to writing on the partitions and throwing paper towels on the floor. I am sure that none of your children does this at home. We addressed this with students this week. Please have a conversation with your child regarding this issue. The repairs of bathrooms are costly and if this will continue, we will be asking parents to cover the cost of the repairs. The plumbing in our bathrooms is old, and you know how expensive that can be. We are striving to create a great environment for our students, but we can’t do this on our own. We do need your help. Please speak to your children regarding respect for property .
We are coming into a heavy cold and flu season. If your child wakes up sick and has ongoing symptoms, or complains about having a sore throat, please do not send him or her to school. When this happens, we end up having to call you to come back and pick up your child. In the meantime, we are increasing the spread of germs and putting others at risk of getting sick.I understand this is not easy, but if we stay attentive to these issues, we will be protecting everyone’s better health. Thank you
